Stranded

What if you were stranded?
stuck in your favorite place
with your favorite things
all in a row
but you were so bored and selfish
so needy
that you overlooked their beauty
their compassion and fufillment
and you were still stranded.

And what if you were stranded
stuck in a cold box
walls white and screaming
a frequency only you can hear
and there was no door
only wet paint
that leaves traces of itself on your fingertips
as you search for a way out
and you're still stranded.

And what if you were stranded
in the hole of your own mind
at the crown of the head
where the heat reaches first
where air pockets surround you
suffocate you, dim you
where there is nothing.

And you were still stranded.
