An Emptiness

A depression so deep inside
An emptiness that you can’t hide
It comes about with no warning
You where fine earlier this morning

But the evening has come around
And now bits and pieces of you hit the ground
You try to write it out but you cant
In your head its an insistent rant

You want to scream out loud
Why not tell them, wait you’re to proud
Why not try and make them understand
It would be like talking to someone’s hand

You know its getting worse but it won’t change
And you know this even though it’s a little strange
Staring blankly at the off white wall you sigh
You want to feel the freedom of a soul in the sky

Things like that seem like a far off thought
What would they feel if that thought the caught
Would they want you to try and explain?
No you know like the last time you’ll be left in the rain
