Luckily enough

Beauty people say is in the eyes of the beholder
I was lucky enough to be the one who was holding her
Snatched glances under the stars when it was raining
With wet hair and runny makeup she still looked amazing
The rain snaking down her face like tears
Lips curled in a smile that could demolish all fear
Standing under stars with her
With no sense of space or time
And I could spend forever
Staring into those eyes
Holding her body close
As reality slips away
Those stolen moments lost
Beneath that midnight sky
Feeling our lips first touch
And hearing the angels cry
