The Fool's Mask

There once was a fool, just running about
'Came words from his mouth like water a spout
But one time he found himself, lonely and broken
So he made him a mask of wise words spoken
Before long, no one remembered the fool
They saw a new man, a guy that was cool
Tired of hiding, he came back to himself
Carrying knowledge, friends and wealth
But soon it all left, leaving him all alone
With no one, or nothing, not even a home
Before long he questioned why he took such a whirl
Then he remembered his old, broken girl
