My Split Personality

I am alone,
With no friend to call my own.
If I shall make them laugh,
If I shall make them sad,
Let's just face it,
I just can't.
My mind is filled with hopes and dreams,
But the only friend I have is just me, myself, and I.

In the shadows of eclipse,
My dreams are an abyss.
All I can do is look to my book,
My book of knowledge,
My book of hope,
My book of things and truth.
I wish I could,
I wish I may,
I wish for everything!
That's what I say,
That's what I dream,
If only it won't seem,
But be,
Be like a bird,
So free and alive,
Be like a friend,
A message we all could send.

My book is a key to a New World,
My book has my words,
My truth, and my wish.
My wish hidden in the shadow of eclipse,
That puts my dreams in an abyss.
If only truth weren't so bare,
It is the pain of the pulling of my long, brown hair,
The truth can hurt,
The truth is there,
That's what I say,
Deep in my despair.
