Fallen Angel

(I can't stand this one. I hate it, but, despite that, it's still something. It will be something until I say otherwise, and I say it still is...)

Today was the day two angels flew high
Batting their wings throughout the thick sky

The lovers were gushing at every stolen glance
It was heavenly in truth, the perfect romance

They sat on cloud nine, for love’s easy games
One loving man and his wonderful dame

They laughed and they flirted for what seemed like weeks
A brush of the hand, eyelashes stroking cheeks

This went on for time until the maiden halted
The angel-boy grimaced, worried he’d faulted

“This can’t go on,” she said and looked down abashed
The man simply stared, his heart had been smashed

“I’m sorry,” she stated with a pat from her hand
“Don’t tell me that, go tell the other man,”

His woman swore false the dastardly sin
When the male replied with a sinister grin

The angel-girl gaped, and she knew what he’d done
She knew quite well that he’d killed the other one

And with that and a rough push, down she went
Down to a death, was prematurely sent

Suddenly the man collapsed with a sting
Because that was the day an angel lost his wings
