Caveat

Caveat
--

Let's fight.
We'll overwhelm these stars.
Making danger follow our charge.

Let's twist, let's spin,
We'll fight the blur.
Falling ever deeper into sin.

Let's whisper.
We'll steal away the silence.
Pressing the world for its musical alliance.

One faulty step,
To set your mind reeling.
There's so much unsaid,
But you know the feeling.

Questions unanswered,
Tellers unfortunate.
Your plans are so weathered,
From foolish, immoral etiquette.

What will the flesh do without you, son?
What is your final wish?
Will you take the cosmos with you?
Or father a new abyss?

The last words of our own.
The last demand from our seraph.
His speech makes no sound,
But wavers with terror:

"Watch the wind,
Its wild climb,
Ever closer, see it entice.
A fallen patriot will swallow the ice.

The water's scent,
Its worried descent,
Ever larger, see it shine.
A raging tiger will swallow time.

Feel the fire,
Its empty desire,
Ever gracious, see its birth.
A forewarned rat will devour the earth."

What a sight.
Oh, so blind.
Broken prophecy, end of the line.
It's a curse, but not a first:
The death of a divine.
