Under a smile

A smile portrays your feigned happiness,
Inside rife with despair, soul crushing agony,
Never to speak out,
But hide it in a smile,
As the icy cold fingers of depression pull you in,
Your smile widens,
How long before you crack?
So many ticking time bombs,
Just waiting for the right moment,
Still smiling, still laughing,
Underneath perhaps you can hear the sobs,
And then...
So many things go off,
All the lies and deceit unable to stay unnoticed,
But you're still smiling,
Then maybe, others think your deadend eyes
Probably just sleep deprived,
Because you're still smiling
