The Doppleganger

It was 7:00 and I was getting up for school.
As I walked in the bathroom I felt rather cool
I looked in the mirror and noticed my skin
It was pale and smooth and my mouth had a grin
I wasn’t grinning, so why was he?
We are not separate, he is not free
He sleeps day and night somewhere within me
As I looked in his eyes I saw a quick flash of yellow
I was startled and backed away as he let out a bellow
He wasn’t mocking my every movement like he did every day
He was a separate me, he had broken away
“This isn’t happening” I yelled at my apparition
“Oh but it is, my young little Milton”
He sounded nothing like me
He was the complete opposite of me, when it came to personality
He was his own, he had his own individuality
He then jumped out of the mirror like it was water
He grabbed my arm and looked at me…….ready to slaughter
Instead he pulled me right in the mirror, his world He then me against the wall and jumped in the air with a swirl
He flew through the mirror as he gave me a wave
He left me in this underworld and won’t let me out
He will ruin my life and surely others
Year after year I stayed in this place and then passed another
For one day I saw him through the mirror, and I knew what to do
I stretched through the mirror and grabbed him and pulled in
I then left him there, helpless and destroyed
I came out through the mirror and felt fresh and knew
When I opened the bathroom door I knew what he had came here to do
There was no one home and my house was destroyed
From that day on I knew what I had to avoid
I never held a mirror in my possession again
