The Black Widow

As the dimming of the light

Will turn the day into the night

The black widow will surely keep

Watch for her lost husband, and beweep

Always clothed in robes of black

In her weathered, crumbling shack

To her woe she is a slave

Her husband lies in his watery grave

Not a single day has passed

Since to the waves her husband was cast

Has the black widow not mourned

She wished she had been forewarned

By the window she will stay

Until she is old and grey

She will never leave her place

All she wants is her husbands embrace

When she blinks she sees her husband

When she dreams she sees her husband

When she wakes she sees her husband

All she sees is her husband

Now she is lain down to rest

Her heart is empty inside her chest

But soon she is to reunite

Herself with her dazzling knight
