I am a Warrior

I am a Gladiator,
Majestic and brave,
I perform for the masses,
I send men to their graves.
With a sword or a spear,
I enthral the crowd,
On that colossal frontier,
Their passion aloud.

I am an Archer,
Keen eyed and lithe,
I kill from a distance,
So many have died.
Scarce do they see me,
Before I've taken aim,
Sometimes they flee,
Sometimes they're maimed.

I am a Knight,
Clad fully in steel,
With a sword or a lance,
Great justice I deal.
The outlander worms,
They will surrender or die,
They'll be taken infirm,
Or inert they will lie.

I am a Soldier,
With rifle and sight,
I kill with a bang,
and a brief flash of light.
Bolt-action doom,
I hold in my hands,
As the hot lead zooms,
Towards men from new lands.

I am the Gunner,
Of a belt-fed machine,
I slay them in hundreds,
In the name of our Queen.
The repetitive chatter,
of the machine gun's sound
Drowns out the clatter,
Of bodies on the ground.

I am the Officer,
Lieutenant or higher,
I sit at the console,
That initiates fire.
Millions could die,
If this button is pressed,
The Missile-filled sky,
Would burn out the pest.

I am the Alpha,
I live on my hill,
With rocks, sticks and bones,
Intruders I kill.
I sharpen my bones,
So they can kill more,
And I find bigger stones,
To fight bigger wars.
