The Perfect Nightmare

I couldn't stop thinking about what you said.
It was all that was going through my head.
All else was stopped, my thoughts and my actions,
I couldn't breathe, couldn't eat, I had no reactions.
I was losing my life to the anguish and agony,
When I finally fell, into a sleep that was tragedy.
Dreamt I had not, it was all a great fright.
What was going through my head, that cold, dark night.

I saw you, right there, staring at me.
Face to face, you were all I could see.
That wasn't a problem, your face and your eyes.
It was what you said to me, all truth, no lies.
I'm not a good person. Was. But no longer.
I can try though, I'll try, and make our love stronger.
"I can win! I can win!" I thought in my sleep.
Because my love for you, is oh, so, so deep.

I couldn't wake up. Not now, not ever.
I need to be with her, now and forever.
She'll wake me up, snap me out of it.
Her arms are wide open, I'm a perfect fit.
I can't wait, to wake up from my nightmare.
So I can hold her, and kiss her, and play with her hair.
