Rock Bottom

Rock Bottom

At such a young age
She’s already given up
She’s already hit rock bottom

When people tell her “it could be worse”
She silently screams
They don’t know the truth
That the worse they’ve imagined
Has always been her reality

But now that things
Are as bad as the can get
She can’t seem to find hope

Nobody ever told her
That down isn’t the only way to go
That once you hit rock bottom
There’s only one way to go:
Up

But she doesn’t know that
And she can’t even begin to hope
That things will change

So she lets
The darkness surround her
If only she HAD known
She could have gone up
And it could have been different
