My song is ending; My violins are ceasing

My life is like an orchestra
The cello's one side, the violins on the other
More instruments are placed in
As I grow smarter, wiser eventually, older

It plays only one long song
With every emotion and feeling in it
And the song explains me
As I enter everything, each little bit

The conductor is, of course, my heart
Because it knows how I feel
When I'm sad the tone changes
But it won't stop, 'til I'm gone, it never will

But when a loved one goes away
A part of the orchestra dies along
Because that person is a part of me
And the tone changes again in my song

My melody tries to keep up
As life changes when I make mistakes
It keeps up with my horrible mood swings
As I lose some of the love I keepsake

But by the time I'm close to death
Only two parts remain in my orchestra
The conductor, my fighting heart
And my violins, no more extras

The melody changes it's course
It slows down along with my harmony
My violins are playing the last part of my song
As my conductor decreases it's beats slowly

I'll cry my last tear, as I try to smile
Cause I know my song is ending
My conductor has no beats left
And all my violins are ceasing...
