If You Could Only See

Is it even a war?
Is it even worth fighting for?
They come home, tired and sore
Just to know that they'll see more

Is it even real at all?
Can they really stand quite that tall?
Or, might they have to fall?
Collapsing hard against the wall

'I'm alright, just fine' they say
'I aimed, shot, and killed today'
Pretending that it's all ok
Knowing they're not here to stay

A senseless act, could it be-
Is this really harmony?
Look at what you've done to me
Oh, if you could only see

Watch them play, having fun
This sick game of hit and run
Where their only weapon is a gun
Breathing hard under the sun

Another game of lost and found
Lost your soul, found the ground
Barely hearing any sound
To this duty you'll always be bound
