Speaking Suicide

You walked away
Dipped your pen in the ink
Hid behind the shadow of your words

I can’t relate
But don’t be ashamed
I won’t condemn you for crying

You wrote a story with a red ink
Shed from the veins he slit
You healed hearts with your wounds
But they’ll never understand

Swallow hard on your words
So you won’t say something insulting
The pain is too much too bear
It would be suicide to speak

Slurring something incoherent
Someone call the grammar police
I’ve caught this illiterate man red handed

You said there was nothing wrong
But that bruise tells me a different story
Are you afraid of what I might say?

You wrote a story with a red ink
Shed from the veins he slit
You healed hearts with your wounds
But they’ll never understand

Swallow hard on your words
So you won’t say something insulting
The pain is too much too bear
It would be suicide to speak

Twist your tongue
(Speaking suicide)
Read my lips
(Is a dangerous act)
Shut your mouth
(You’re an open book to him)
Bite it all back

Swallow hard on your words
So you won’t say something insulting…
