Suddenly Here, Suddenly There

You're sitting on your bed, thinking about the next day,
What places you'll go, what direction, what way,
You think of yesterday, though you know its history,
And try to forget about tomorrow's mystery.

Youre crying your heart out
"Mommy, please don't go!
Please don't leave me all alone!"
Its the first day of preschool, you're scared silly,
and you hardly know that there are other things that drive you willy-nilly.
Suddenly, the door opens,
And see so many potential friends.

You blink and see yourself in a room,
Filled with snobs, and teachers, and gloom.
But suddenly you see the good,
Those 3 close friends who know you.
Sometimes you see the fun in middle school.

Suddenly there you see yourself,
Running around a hallway of doom,
Tugging your hair at every missed classroom,
Try to pull the locker open for once,
Then realize you're late for lunch.

You blink and you're swept up by
a hot and cute and perfect guy
His eyes glinting
at the sight of you
His eyes are such a beautiful blue...

Suddenly you're back in bed,
Thinking of all that past you've read,
You hold you're head up high
and tell the world that you're ready, not shy,
You know you're perfect, in one way atleast
so turn against the world and show it your lead.
