To Escape The Fate

Up until last year
I didn't know about you or your work
My friend first introduced me to you
And I was hooked from the start.
I couldn't believe I had gone so long....
Without even knowing you existed.

It all started in Las Vegas
Where the four amazing guys formed the infamous band . . . .
It wasn’t easy
I’m guessing that there were some rocky edges . . . .
But you got through it and recorded some astounding and meaningful music.

The day that I had the pleasure of actually being able to meet you
Was the happiest day of my life . . . .

You seemed like you where very pleasant to be around
And people would be lucky to even know you . . .
And you all were charming . . . . to say the least.
If there was a color that accurately described you
I would say a reddish-orange
Because of the fiery, edginess of your style and music.

Your hard unmistakable beats
Remind me of biting down
On a sweet bar of rich chocolate
As it melts slowly in my mouth
Slipping down my throat and down to my stomach
The bass beats fill my ears

It’s hard to pick out a distinct sent for you
But if I had to choose it would probably be
The sweet pungent smell of a newly applied Axe
Scent filling every part of my nose.
I can’t believe I had gone so long.

I turn on my iPod
Immediately going to your music
Something that I listen to mostly everyday
Letting the steady addictive beats pound steadily in my ear.
Like a drug coursing through my veins
I can’t go one day without listening to you
At some point of the day.

Just as you had seduced the music industry with your empowering music,
You had also seduced me with your music.
The Flood.
The very first song that I ever listened to
And also one of my favorite songs.
It was a masterpiece…and to me it told an amazing story.

***I can’t believe…
The drama that I’m in!
The flood is getting closer…
And I don’t think they know
That I know how to swim….***

***It leaves you gums,
Slips down you tongue
And travels fast down toward you lungs…***

I can’t believe I had gone so long.
