Daddy's Girl.

It's dark out; a cold winter's night.
There's a little girl staring out her window.
She won't sleep, though it's past her bedtime.
She wants to know; where'd her daddy go?

Last night, he said as he was leaving
That he'd be back a little late.
Pinky swear; he made her promise
Not to stay up and wait.

So eight o'clock, she climbed into bed;
Hugged her favorite teddy bear.
And in the morning, she looked around,
But her daddy wasn't there.

Looking out onto the streets,
"Daddy, please come home."
But no matter how many tears she weeped,
She was now all alone.
