No Place Like Home
Back roads and stary nights
Are the the things I miss about home
The smells and the sights memories of old
Being somewhere new takes it away
Your heart has a place that it wants to stay
Moon out in full shining down a canal
And i can feel the eyes looking at me now
I know that somewhere in side there is a strength
Somewhere in side of me theres a hidden depth
I have a way to cope and its home
Memories and photos that are sun bleached
I can still feel the tingle of my first kiss
And the ache of my first love
But now sitting on a canal its all in the past
Sometimes its a question of do my memories last
Home is somewhere up the road
With people there who I miss and want to hold
Places can replace it for a little while
Sometimes its only cause your hearts in denial
A phone call or text can hold me back for a time
But sooner or later I’m gunna find myself
Looking at a way back to where I used to be
Taking a day out to just take it all in
Calling this place home is a little bit of a sin
It’s been a while and I’m heading on back
It doesnt look the same as it did just a month ago
But yet theres still the stary nights
And the days spent watching birds take flight
I have a way to cope and its home
Memories and photos that are sun bleached
I can still feel the tingle of my first kiss
And the ache of my first love
But now sitting on a canal its all in the past
Sometimes its a question of do my memories last
