Freedom's Not A Right, It's A State Of Mind

Take a step back.
Take a step away from yourself,
Step outside of yourself
Out of your shell,
See the real you that is hidden
Underneath everything the world forces on you,
The inner child, the broken soul
Allowing yourself to be weak and powerless
Towards the harsh realites that are constantly ignored.

Deny the known, the safe
Deny yourself comfort,
Throw out that which you are use to,
Stare the strange in the eye
Take on the unknown
Remove caution to truely let go
Pay attention to the rabble
Raise your head high
Question what you thought was the norm.

Step back into yourself
Everything is out of synch,
Wearing your skin like it's tight
Constricting, unbearable, suffocating
Falling off and away,
Finding yourself alone
Enough to drive the strongest mad
Scared, blind, and numb
Will you cave or stay strong?

It's going to be awhile
Until you can grasp the change,
To understand the truths
The consequence is to stand alone
One agains crowd
Where only the strong can survive
You will survive
Gripping to the world, to truth
Knuckles turn white while breaking skin.

The world will slip away
Mountains crumble into dust,
Seas dry up into wastelands
Weak will become prey to the strong
Only truth and knowledge stand tall
A top a throne of debris and rubble,
You're a witness to these advances
Eyes open, never missing a beat
Self sufficient, liberated, free
Knowing yourself for the first time.
