Every Time

Every time we walk past each other,
I hope my flesh won’t turn to pink.
Because it would be so transparent
That butterflies gang up on me.

Every time your eyes gazed upon me,
I see the reflecting twinkles in them.
They were so round; I love the sparks
Of a jillion gems and iodine.

I always knew they were false hopes,
Imaginary and foolish to create.
But they were the only thing that keeps me on hold,
Beyond my solitary oath.

I first wanted the title to be Solitary Oath but I took it back. It was too deep.
