Change

Leafless tress interrupt my field of vision,
and even though I'm frustrated on the inside,
my lips show different.

A smile shines across my face as I distinguish your pretty features
in between a sea of unimportant people.
Today, as the cloudy skies don't let the sunrays through,
I seek for you desperately;
anxious to put my lips on your cheek...
to tell you how much you've changed,
how your boyish face has grown into a manly one.
A lovely man I haven't seen in a while.

Our bodies collide happily against each other,
and we laugh, never being able to stop.

I can tell that you are several inches taller now,
and I say it out loud.
You've changed so much, but yet, you're still the same.
"Is that even possible?" I wonder silently.
You smile to me and mess my hair up warmly,
searching for my eyes as you say
that I've changed too;
that I'm even lovelier now.

Then, almost pulled by some sort of magic,
we kiss, forgetting everything else for at least a couple of minutes.
Our dreams come true after all of this time,
and we smile.

I guess we haven't changed that much after all.
