Shattered

It hurts to find it isn't all you are
If only I'd found out before the call.
My hope can only fly before a fall.
I wish I could be perfect, dream so far
The real world steals, controls this crashing car.
My heart is not enough to earn a stall
It stops, and inner voice is locked in brawl.
So burned, reduced to little more than char
My hope is broken, shattered hiding tears.
Your help is further than I hope to say
It's miserable fortune here between.
The stars have all been painted shades of grey
It seems this cycle builds throughout the years
What good it brings is something left unseen.

It's a depressing sonnet! I wish I didn't have so many depressing moments, but they are good poetry-worthy.
