The Tale of A Broken Child

She's just small and tiny,
Breakable in ways,
She never did anything to hurt you,
She was just a baby still.
Odd things amused her,
Like a brand new coin, shiny.
And there she lays,
Sound asleep and dreaming too.
There was the first time you took her free will.
She couldn't fight you off,
Even if she tried.
She couldn't tell you no,
But she'd wake up and cry.
She didn't know what was going on,
Just being six and all.
She didn't know that you took things from her,
Things she'd never get back.
You did this to her,
In front of her eyes she saw what she shouldn't have at that age.
She never knew better,
It sickens and fills others with rage.
From then on to nine,
She dealt with you.
But then came a time,
Something was new.
Another came in her room,
It wasn't you.
This time she felt more fear,
And was about to do what she had to do.
Run to her mom and tell her the truth.
But sadly this man knew what to say.
"Tell anyone and it'll be your brother put away"
Being so young,
She didn't know better,
It was hard to deny,
She cared very much for her older brother.
So she took what she had to and didn't complain.
But later in the years,
She thought it was her brother to blame.
She told him the truth the summer of sixteen.
Her brother was shocked,
What was this deleted scene?
Then he told her mother,
Everything got better.
Took ten years to get out the truth.
But now she had no fear,
She was stronger,
Smarter.
But each night she sheds some tears.
It's something she will always remember.
But never deal with again.
