Never There

When I need you most,
You're never there.
And if you are,
You act as if I'm not.
I'm tired of playing games with you,
And compromising my dignity,
And self respect for you.
Water has to meet it's level,
And apparently,
I'm "dumbing up" to be with you.
I'm sorry I'm not with you all the time,
Like it used to be.
But you think I had a choice of wether or not to leave?
'Cause I didn't.
I'm reaching,
For your shadow,
Drowning in,
The kiss of dawn.
But soon I'll be floating.
'Cause all the sweet words you say to me,
And all the kisses in the world,
Could never take away the annoyance that I feel with you.
