River of Dispair and Hope

I river that runs...
A thousand miles long...
And legends and tales...
That sing the river songs.

I used to like you
But just for awhile...
Then you cut me adrift,
And sent me down the nile...

So here i am...
Sailing my heart broken boat
And with all tattered sails
It still stays afloat...

In need of a love,
My hope is sustained
For the while you left me
And now i am pained

And the rush of that river...
With its soft spoken swoons
That drown you in misery...
