Sweet Sacrifice

My heart beats, as I walk on this way
It’s what I do, everyday
Tears are signs of being weak
And starting to feel the need of trying to seek

Seek for the answers to the questions
And make those brief suggestions
To the people around you, who seem to be
All the same, reality, ah, how sad to see

Hungry people in the streets, who God says, are our brothers and sisters
Yes, we let them be alone, but what if one day, they one by one, become the greatest sinners?
We say that we care, when they are times when we feel so insensitive
Yet, in school, while in class or any social activity, we’re all so attentive

Our world has a lot of sacrifices to make, for us to live
But then, we’d all recklessly, give and give
I can’t say a thing or two about this subject
Because almost anything anyone freely says is something to reject

Look at your window, and what do you see?
Is this another dream or nightmare or is this reality?
My journey has gone too far, to a road of despair
After all that I’ve done, I can say that, life isn’t always fair

The sweet sacrifices that we make
For God and other people’s sake
This world is now called “solitary confinement”
Now we must face, this life, of discernment.
