Gossip

He said, she said.
Insults flung back and forth like missiles in an air raid.
None of it founded.

The generations past, that pride themselves on their integrity.
The generations that follow, appearing indignant.

All play their part in the great game of gossip.
The players, passing the blame, defaming and vilifying.
The spectators, offering encouragement, spreading the word.

Everyone looks for an advantage over the other.
No-one looks for a solution.

Mature? Sophisticated?
I think not.

How old is the child who thinks it's fun to tease and torment?
