Imagination

Imagination: where adventures unfold.
Fairytales of long ago,
Stuck in the corner where they grow old.

I loved escaping to magical worlds in my mind,
When you came along they began to unwind.
New dreams swept away the cobwebs,
The long forgotten fairy wings,
As you filled my heart with promises
And new exciting dreams.

Now all that’s left is darkness, a big black hole.
You left and took with you, my heart and soul.
I can’t fill the void that’s left behind;
Can’t brighten the darkness in my mind.

Imagination: it’s all gone cold
Fairytales of long ago,
Stuck in the corner where they grow old.
