The Toy Box

There once was a little girl ragdoll
With joyously bright red cheeks
She sings and she plays all day long
And smiles at all those she meets
A hug or wave, a laugh in the air
Off she skips with her bouncing red hair
Wherever she goes she spreads laughter and joy
She really is a remarkable toy.

Mr Ted is her very best friend
With his big padded paws and fluffy, soft fur
He watches day and night
His eyes glassy and bright
He’s huggable, loveable
The very best bear indeed

Then there is Polly
The porcelain dolly
Who sits high on her shelf all day
Although no one knows it
Because she can’t show it
It hurts her that she can’t play.
Up there on her shelf
Gathering dust
She watches with tired sad eyes
As the other toys play down below
They forget the poor dolly called Polly

Then one day daddy comes home
With an amazing new toy called “Wii”
“A new friend!” cry the toys “Yipee!”
Their happiness fades as they’re left on the floor
The children don’t play with them anymore
What a terribly sad life for a toy.
