Your Stupid Grins

Foolish, curious and naive
we saw these in each others eyes.
Laughter, tears and comfort
were the gifts you gave at night.
My precious smiles,
your stupid grins,
we lost them through time.

Distant, uneasy and being cold
we didn't want to be like this
Tickles, pranks and having fun
were the things that couldn't be replaced
Our warming presence,
and innocent eyes,
we locked them up and then forgot.

Now I try to bury the past.
I just hope you'll never come back,
'cause when that time comes,
I hope we'll last.
