Damn Your Cold Kiss
Swept off my feet
Carried across this blackened land
In your arms
Safe
Protected
Hiding in your chest
From the monsters at your feet
Wind whipping my face
Rain showering me
Mud collecting upon your shoes
The ash falls from the sky
As the fire blazes around us
The smoke stealing my life
The carnage covers our fear
Your anger especially
You run faster
Just to get me out
I weep and sob
But I know I’ll be okay
Jumping off our mind
Landing in the suffocating water
Our mental love grows and branches
The ocean stings my eyes
But not as much as yours do
Your eyes are black
Staring into mine
I cower in fear as you swim closer
I try to get away
Panicking in a paddle
Each stroke I move farther away
I look back and your eyes are red
Your skin is grey
Your lips are a sickly purple
I stop and tread
I look upon your face
You saved me
I shouldn’t run away
I gently swim back
And you look pretty darn surprised
I lace my arms around your neck
As you do to my waist
You press our foreheads together
While our legs kick I press my lips to yours
We grow aggressive and then careful
You pull away and you smiled
I furrowed my eyebrows together confused
My face grew numb
It stretched down to my neck and then to my torso
All the way to my toes
My skin cracked and blistered
Blood poured from my nose
I coughed and sputtered
You continued to grin
Tipping your head to the side you touched my face
Your finger traced my jaw
As you brought me closer to your body
You kissed me again as I struggled to get away
You sucked my life away
My breath became shorter and whispery
My heart beat slowed
My vision blurred
My limbs became limp
I finally floated on the surface
My corpse as grey as your life
My hips went under
Ad my body followed
Down I went into the blue
Away from you
Away from harm
You brought me once again to safety.
Carried across this blackened land
In your arms
Safe
Protected
Hiding in your chest
From the monsters at your feet
Wind whipping my face
