Windows Ledge

I sit upon this window ledge
With nothing but jealous thoughts
Running through my head.
And my eyes dart out to the world below,
Watching people come and go.

As they pass I suddenly see
What life would be like without me.
I smile with cloudy eyes
And nod with understanding.

With on last look at the world below,
I stand on the ledge.
My legs shake and my heart starts to brake.
I don't feel. It doesn't seem real.

Crack!

The ground is cold
As my head molds to the floor.
I can feel no more.

I hear people cry and scream at the mess I have made.
My first thought is to get up and clean it straight away.
But then I remember I am dead,
And continue my blank stare to the world ahead.

Death was a dream.
Not painless nor clean,
But a steady dream,
That slowed down time.
For a brief second, the world was mine.

I sit upon this window ledge
With nothing but jealous thoughts
Running through my head.
And my eyes dart out to the world below,
Watching people come and go.
