Words part from my lips like dying leaves
Caught in flight by the winds of despair.
When a choking gasp resounds the hall
And I am alive once more.
Chocolate eyes flicker candle flames
In a sea of ashen white,
Reflect your feeble light of life
You cling, so frail, so pure.
And it soaks up your tears
Like warm Summer rain
As you weep and whisper:
“Please don’t lie.”
But I will hold you ever closer
In this colourless world,
United by love and embrace.
Fingers now shaking
(Hearts almost unbreaking)
As I seal my vow with a kiss.
As I capture your lips as
You captured my heart
Lost in ourselves once more.
My angel, my heaven is here in your arms
And ‘I love you’ is all I can say.
