Losing the Game

Once again,
You give up on yourself.
I just keep trying
To live up to your faults.
I can only do so much
To keep you in the game.
I can only fail so many times
Before I’m in to deep to get back up again.

Lie to me, defy me,
Die to me, deny me.

How can you sit there and watch it go on?
You know in your heart you want to win.
Before your eyes see it, you’re too far gone.
You’ll only be defeated if you never get in.

Throw in the towel,
Raise your white flag.
It’s too late now,
But you can’t say you tried.
Don’t say you did your best,
Don’t say you’re sorry,
Don’t say you’ll do better next time.
You’re a liar; you’re two-faced.

Lie to me, defy me,
Die to me, deny me.

How can you sit there and watch it go on?
You know in your heart you want to win.
Before your eyes see it, you’re too far gone.
You’ll only be defeated if you never get in.

I watched you give up.
I saw you hang your head.
If your game is over,
Don’t ask me to continue to play.
I’m done trying twice as hard
To fill that empty hole.
I’m done helping you,
So find someone else to ruin.

I’m through.
