The Night it all Ended

Her pillow was wet that night. So wet, she lied on the floor, unable to sleep.
Her pillow was soaked through with tears. That poor soul had cried until her body was drained of all liquid. Her arms hung loosely at her sides as she stared up at the dark ceiling. She was too limp-too drained of energy to move.

She cried that night. Over life, over love, over death. She cried. And she didn't stop until she couldn't cry anymore.

Her red empty eyes looked inside of her. What was there? Nothingness. She could barely feel her own heart beating. Her own soul had deteriorated with all the pain she had suffered through the years. Her insides had shriveled up and died, just like her motivation, confidence, and will to live.

And with that pain, she rose the blade, shaking as she did so. Tears would be welling up in her eyes if there were tears left to cry. Her dry eyes ached with tiredness, but she could not close them. And the blade was brought down with a satisfying slice, invigorating whatever was left of her with the grim satisfaction of feeling.

She bled that night. Bled for life, love, and death. She bled. And the bleeding continued, allowing her to realize she could feel.

Sometimes, things go a little too far. She couldn't stop. She was feeling. It was pain, but it was better than feeling nothing at all. And she sliced, and she resisted the urge to scream. And as the twisted smile crossed her gaunt features, it continued. Along her arms, her legs, her body. No one would come to stop her. So why stop? When she was the happiest she had been in years.

It continued. It went on. Her painful insanity making her head spin. A dry laugh escaped her lips as the cuts moved higher and higher. She did not stop. A maniacal laugh resounded throughout the room as the cuts got deeper and deeper.
Silence came, as she reached her throat.

She died that night. Sometimes, the emotional pain kills you on the inside. After that, it's only a matter of dying on the outside.

And she escaped the pain that night. It all came to an end as she died with a content smile upon her features. The first smile to reach her eyes in years.

And she reached heaven that night. And she could finally move on, and leave behind the suffering of life.

And no one noticed that night. But the next morning, they were devastated to find her body on the floor.
