One Last Time

One Last Time

I hold them tight, him and her. She and he.

Let them all go,

Let them go.

Moments, all drifting,

Seconds, months, years wasted,

Moments.

All gathering towards this one.

No wait! Not yet.

I stumble on, half blind, like a skeleton,

Towards on last memory,

For one last time.

My eyes have brightened.

I see the blood red sun, the dirt encrusted pier,

The memories gathering around

Smothering.

I shriek in agony, emptiness, my life empties.

We live, we eat, we get ill, we die.

Nothing lasts long.

I finish screaming, my energy empties

I am gone
