Dragon

With lungs of fire the dragon breathes,
Flames are what the brave knight sees.
He charges the beast on his trusty white horse,
The dragon will make him feel bitter remorse.
The princess watches from her sky-lined tower,
in her delicate hands she holds a beautiful flower.
It is meant for her one true love,
For the man she watches from above.

She watches him be burned alive,
Through her window she screams and cries.
In grief she sings a silent song,
She sings its melody all day long.
Through the its eyes of crimson red,
She sees her blooming hate and dread.
She wanted this horrible beast to die,
Because it made her scream and cry.

There’s but one way to kill this beast,
To make him fade away deceased.
She needed to push him into the sea,
Over the cliff so she could be free.
Water makes a dragon die,
So they much prefer to stay dry.
Another knight had dared arrive,
He didn’t want this beast alive.

With a mighty lash of his sword,
The beast could not take any more.
Over the cliff it fell away,
Never again will this dragon stay.
So in a fit of heavenly laughter,
They had their happily ever after.
