Why?

WHY?

I take your hand, but that causes no reaction,
My heart no longer races, is something wrong?
I’m not going dizzy, my mind doesn’t chase,
Every thing you do, every move you make,

In the car, there’s no noise but our breathing,
You let the radio fill the awkward silences,
And I listen to the sound my beating heart makes,
It’s regular, not jagged like before, not anymore,

Your eyes are steely and cold, so confusing,
To find that they’re not mine, not this time,
And you won’t sing to me at night, it’s not right,
So hard to understand why, to truly get it,

Each touch is a lie, and I know it, do you?
Yet I can’t doubt that you’re still true,
Your distance, it hurts me, and I can’t see,
What have I done to you, I’ve only loved you?
