The Last Days of Grace

The last days of Grace were spent in fear
The sky is falling the children were crying
But poor little Grace just sat and stared

It wasn’t that Grace didn’t care but she was just so scared
She knew if she said a word she’d never make it out
Even then she still never got her way
Poor little Grace will always remember the day

The sky fell down
The oceans roared with terror
And the society fell from all it knew
They screamed and yelled
Run if you can, don’t worry about anyone else

Cities crumbled, Skyscrapers quaked
The peoples heart oh how they ached
They watched everything they tried so hard
To bring up from the dust
The barren land that they had been exiled to

The skies they glowed with a eerie hue
And even the children they all knew
Their world was gone, destruction left in its wake
Dutiful parent’s who’d try and fake it
They whispered to the children “don’t worry we’ll make it”

Well poor little Grace didn’t have them
Poor little Grace she didn’t have anyone
She just watched and stared but she always cared

She watched humanity slip away
And just contemplated in great dismay
This little girl she knew what had to be done
She knew what they had to do

But no one listened they we’re in to much of a rush
To hear out of the little girl
Who knew more about life then they could ever hope
They just didn’t know how to cope

They watched the plastic and the metal melt away
And it left them with a scary picture
But that picture was what they really were

Just big metal skyscrapers and cheap-ass pacts
But this little girl she knew the facts
If everyone thought like a kid
The last day of Grace would have been so much better

The last day of Grace were spend in shear terror
She knew what had to be done
But they all refused, doubted what she knew

Little children they may have a lot to learn
But we could learn a thing or two
If we took a moment to open our eyes

And finally realize
Money and greed are taking over
And if we thought like a kid
Maybe our future could be a lot brighter.
