Blood Red Dream

Walking alone through an empty corridor.
My thoughts just a hazy cloud.
Gripping the handle tighter I push through the thick door.
I see you.
I see your silhouette in the black room.
So soundly you sleep when danger is mere steps away.
Closer I crawl to you.
No more than a breath away.
My hands raised above you, waiting.
“Myranda.” I whisper in your ear.
Your eyes open abruptly
A single scream rebounds through the room.
Thrusting hard I plunge the blade through your heart.
Blood splatters across my face.
I rejoice in its warmth.
Your struggles are no more.
The gurgled breath fades away.
I let go off my friendly dagger to see my destruction.
Beautiful is your body now.
Oh how lovely you look in red.
The picture fades.
My glee over shadowed by the sun light shining down upon me.
Looking around I find nothing has changed.
My sorrow strengthens as my blood red dream is washed away…
