This Modern World

We are the descendants of the dead.
Living out our lives.
Death keeps a close watch, but,
We can replace our broken parts.
If the battery is broken get a spare.

We can cure some diseases,
But Death is still aware
That we a vulnerable.
In this modern world:
If the battery is broken get a spare.

This modern world. Filled with cures, shots and needles.
We are safe? No. Death still lurks,
Maybe even more than before.
But if Death catches you and the battery dies...
There is no spare for the dead and broken hearted.
