And confuses you on why you stay.
Depression isn't just a dark day.

What is Depression?
A gloomy feeling on the inside,
A state of confusion but you don't know why.
And leaves you with barely any light for your unhappy life.

A disease that refuses to leave;
Leaving black tears on your sleeves.
And feelings of being deceived.

A feeling that controls your interests,
A feeling that leaves slits,
And cut marks on your wrists.

A maze of unhappiness;
Shallow isn't it.
It's a dark, deep pit.

What is Depression?
Everything I am.
Depression dictates my life,
And is the reason as for why I pretend.
The smile I have is fake.
The laugh isn't a warm embarrass.
It's a sad feeling that doesn't leave,
But haunts my hollowed out heart.
It makes me think about suicide.
But then I remember I'm already dead.
I am a dead girl,
In a walking body.
Depression has treatment,
Or so they say.
Depression tells you to take pills,
And put the pain away.
Depression puts you in therapists office,
So you can cry and cry away.

What is Depression?
Oh why do you ask?
Depression is depression.
