Daytime Nightmares

Broken bones and bloody fists
Surround her in her path of twists.

Colourful bruises and nighttime walks
Are accompanied by what evil stalks

When the moon and stars tell the time
Danger starts to cross the line.

So when you wonder around the streets at night
Be careful of what your eyes may sight.

Whether it be chained to the wall
Or hanging in a hall
She always forgets to look
Just before she falls

Tears of fear streamed down her face
As she unwillingly tried to quicken her pace

How many more years of this will she have to endure?
How much longer to be so insecure?

Would she win the battle to survive?
All has been already taken from her life.

When will her wounded heart finally heal?
Was it really more than just a deal?

Until then, she still wouldn’t know
How she looks in the picture show.
