Ghostly Tap

I'm watching such sad faces
Such pain and despair,
I hear whispers of question
And why it isn't fair.

I look into the sky
And it holds the same attitude,
No sun is seen, grey clouds float high
It only adds to the mood.

I wonder why this day is sad
Surely it can't be all that bad,
These tears around me, on the faces
Of grandparents, mom and dad.

But in the crowd of tall and fat
She stood out the most,
Her blonde hair fell over her face
In her hand, a single white rose.

I saw the agony in her eyes
As she tried not to cry,
She stood tall and brave
And whispered her final goodbye.

Hours flew by, with sobbing all around
And still, she stood silently,
A single tear rolled down her cheek
She brushed it away quite violently.

Finally it ended, and the crowd lessened
But she stood still,
Her eyes were blank as she looked down
A wind came with a sudden chill.

And now the girl stood alone
She fell to her knees,
The tears she'd kept locked away
Now flowed more freely.

The girl lay the rose on the dirt
And got to her feet,
Her body started to shake
From cold and defeat.

And now I made my way
To stand right beside her,
I could've sworn I saw a smile
As I wrapped my arms around her.

And I know she couldn't see me
On the day of my funeral,
A spirit on my way up
Before goodbye, I had to say hello.

Still, I felt that our bond
Was strong enough to even,
From one ghostly touch from me
Save my sister from grieving
