IN MY DREAMS

In my dreams I beg the night
To come with me; give up this fight.
Your missing pulse and skin of stone
Makes my soul feel less alone.
I’m your last, you my first
O my love, for you I thirst.
Kiss my lips, them my neck
Change my life from this useless wreck.
But it can’t be true, this love is false
For you only hunger for my pulse.

In the darkness here I wait
Death, I anticipate.
Yet there’s a light among the black
Begging for me to rise and come back.
How can I deny such warmth, such fire
As the shadows begin to climb higher?
To turn my back on such a love?
Would be to forsake the stars above.
So come my love, come my light
Together we’ll shed this night.
