City Slicker

You run through every light
The real life superman.
Win every fight
Never walked, always ran

With every passing street
Pain ripples in your feet
Signs go by ignored
Taxi's engines roared.

Scent of wet pavement
Matches the avenues movement
People passing each other
Bumping into someone's sister, brother

All the various colors of lights
Distracting sirens and flash
Blinds the eyes of passer bys
This city life is so brash

One day your tired feet
Will grow of the constant roam
They’ll circle back to our familiar street
Back to our home sweet home.
