Ripples of Water

Close your eyes,
and the scene will ,
rush by

The water swirls and ripple,
on the lake, large as mountains,
the rainbow hue,
red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, indigo,
all bright as stars,
brighter than school fluorescent lights,
temporarily blinding ,
ladybugs and beetles,
who now fumble
for their dance steps,
avoiding collision,
dressed up in their finest shells,
hearts drugged up with anxiousness,
and joy,
a ladybug's shell,
shuddering,
exchanging colours black and red,
not using manners,
not a faint please or thank-you

Keep your eyes closed,
and the world will wait,

The water swirls, and ripple,
the lake, large as football fields,
the rainbow hue,
red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, indigo,

Where's the pot of god,
at the end of the rainbow?
At the bottom of the lake,
deep as a volcano

There's a fool,
knees being dragged down by the soggy soil,
glistening like broken
sandglass and hearts,
shimmering from the orange and red,
an image of sunsets painted
There's a fool,
plunging his greedy hands,
deep, deep, clenching,
and unclenching his hands,
trying to reach the bottom,
of the deep pool,
There's a fool,
who will regret this idiot move later in life,
he making the Blue Moon sky shatter,
making my heart shrink and tighten
with rage and guilt

The land, the land,
laced up by raspberry blood,
the colour,
swirls, twists, and crevices,
black as charcoal,
There are flickers,
of glow-in-the-dark paint,
lights splattered around like rushed paint

This world is fading, the edges biting grey,
open your eyes,
and you're capped up,
into the world
we call
Reality
