one boy, one girl, and a little birdie called love

There she was, ready to end it all.
Knife in hand, about to cut the thread and fall.
There she was, saying her silent goodbyes.
She couldn't write the note only to fill it with more lies.
Picture it, she's on her bed thinking of how to leave.
She starts to slowly pull up her sleeve.
Cutting won't help now, it's not worth it.
She cries a little, but then her eyes forget.
Phone rings, she doesn't want this at the moment.
Then she reads the message that he sent.
Her friend's about to fall, and she has to be strong.
How can she be strong when everything's wrong?
Nobody gets how much she cares for him though.
The sad truth is, the world may never know.
Is living for each other really enough?
Do they really think of each other when it gets rough?
There she is, tears bursting out.
She paints a pretty picture as she fights not to scream and shout.
The poor girl is in over her head.
She doesn't even know why she can't let either be dead.
She's got a lot to live for though, and he's a big part.
But she doesn't even get that he's so close to her heart.
He doesn't get it either and that's half of the tale.
It's time for the ship of truth to set sail.
A little bird whispers, "You fool, she's in love with you."
He whispers back, "Maybe I am too..."
The little birdy travels back, "Girl, you have nothing but love."
The girl cries and whispers, "He's like my Angel sent from above."
Traveling faster at the speed of light.
The little birdy whispers, "You need to put up a fight.
You're losing her and losing her love in the same breath.
Boy, that's just too many close calls to death."
He considers and smiles in fear.
He closes his eyes, and lets out a tear.
Looking at the bird he whispers, "If only she knew."
The bird flies back to the broken girl and whispers, "I think he loves you."
The boy and the girl are both shattered by the truth.
The only reason being that there is no proof.
She's too close minded, he's too set in his ways.
She leans by her bed and starts to pray.
"Dear little bird, please hear my prayer.
I know you're out there...somewhere.
I love him, but I'm losing my place.
I look in the mirror and don't recognize my face.
When I speak to him I feel like a princess.
I didn't mean to fall in love or to obsess.
I wish I knew what he was thinking when he thinks of me.
Little birdy, this is so much more than I wanted it to be..."
She trails off as sleep takes over her in a blaze.
She falls asleep and dreams it's just a phase.
Miles away the little birdy watches the boy.
He looks like a murderer of Joy.
So the little bird whispers in the silent night's sky.
"Boy, she loves you. Tell her it will be alright and give a million reasons why."
Something hits him, he sends her a text.
Very unsure of what will happen next.
The boy types in some words, and so the story goes.
"Baby girl, I love you. And I hope the whole world knows."
